TLV707: TLV70733/TLV74733 Overshoot Test.

Part Number: TLV707

Hi Sir,

My customer using TLV70733/64633 and test overshoot found current will drop to 0A about 500us as below waveform.

Is it make sense? what cause the current drop?

Thanks, Ian.

  • Hi Ian,

Do you have more details to share about how the customer is turning on the part and how the part is configured? E.g., is EN tied to VIN? Is the load attempting to draw current while the part is turning on but there is no current until it reaches a certain point? What are the input and output cap values?

The load current in the second scope shot looks like inrush current to charge the input and output caps. Can you have the customer provide scope shots with Vin included?

    Best regards,

    Nick

  • Hi Nick,

Below is customers' design, already cut off the input/ output and EN trace, 5V is from power supply directly and connect electronic load on output.

For EN pin, use another 1.8V power to keep LDO always turn on.

    Here is our test step.

    1. Set electronic load to 100mA
    2. Turn on the power supply

    Thanks, Ian.

  • Hi Ian,

This seems to be an issue with the electronic load because the startup time is only supposed to be 100us typ. Please ask the customer to use a passive resistive load and see if the issue persists.

    Best regards,

    Nick
