BQ24297: 10kohm will effect the function of BQ24297 chip

Part Number: BQ24297

Hi,

The presence of 10kohm in the picture will affect the charging function of the chip. When soldering a 10 kohm resister, it will effect the charging of the chip and the charging can't be completed. When the 10kohm resister is removed, the charging function of chip is normal. Why?

  • Hi,

VTS/VREGN determines the charging status. To initiate a charge cycle, the battery temperature must be within the VLTF to VHTF thresholds. During the charge cycle the battery temperature must be within the VLTF to VTCO thresholds, else the device suspends charging and waits until the battery temperature is within the VLTF to VHTF range. Please refer to 9.3.3.3 Thermistor Qualification and COLD/HOT THERMISTER COMPARATOR specs on the d/s for the details.

    Thanks,

    Ning.
