TPS22918: What is the equivalent R and L of TPS22918 switch?

Expert 1600 points
Part Number: TPS22918
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62827,

Hello,

  • I have a chip powered by 3.3V and 1.8V which I generated from 2 TPS62827 Buck converters.
  • For power sequencing reasons (for the whole system, not only the chip), the 1.8V should come first or at the same time with 3.3V, hence I'll use TPS22918 load switch on the 3.3V rail.
  • This chip has extremely large current transients and tight ripple spec, and any parasitic R/L between the 3.3V source and the chip's input power pins should be counted for.

So the Question is: what values of R/L should I assume for the load switch in the path now?

thanks

  • Hello Ahmed,

for R, you can really only need to consider Ron of the device (52mOhm typ )

For L, we do not have data for this that we can share and I do not believe it will be useful in any case. You could potential calculate the lead self-inductance but the PCB traces would have more effect and the IC itself should be neglible, adding maybe fractions of nH/pH at most.
