LM317HV: How to implement precision current-limiter circuit?

Hi team,

My customer is asking to design LM317HV as current-limiter circuit but I didn't see related circuit but I find in LM317 datasheet. see below picture.

And my customer's specification:

Vin=24 ~ 56V  and Ilim=3mA. Can you advise?
