TPS63024: question

Hi Expert,

Customer used TPS63024 and did TIS(Total Isotropic Sensitivity) test for band8 (DL:955MHz/ BW:10MHz) but the result didn't pass < -92dBm requirement. The load is about 650mA. They found adjust input cap might help but didn't find a trend and still failed the test so far. Do you have any idea about the TIS test and could you provide any comments?

By the way, they have tried either PSM/PWM mode but no difference for TIS result. EMI test was passed so layout might not be a reason.

Is the test condition Vin=3.6V, Vout=3.6V?

The layout is important for a buckboost converter. Please share me with that.

And I would like to check the switching waveform L1, L2, Vout, better with current of the inductance.

Hi Minqiu,

One update for your information that customer tried with buck converter for the LTE and the TIS result looks good. Do you have any idea why buck-boost would see the issue? They will try with LDO afterward.

Hi Minqiu,

Customer find increasing inductor to 2.2uH can improve TIS sensitivity ~1.5dB and would like to try out 3.3uH. However, the DS didn't recommend and webench simulation shows it can't run with 3.3uH. Please let us know if you have any idea about the changes. Thanks.

Hi Allan:

Too small inductance may caused larger current ripple.

What we recommend in datasheet is to cover most case. For such 2.2uH, I would suggest customer do full test to check the risk and do the decision by themselves.
