Can we adjust dv/dt capacitor to achieve 100mV/ms slew rate?

Hi Jimmy,

Can you please provide the following details,

Max input voltage
Max lad Current
Is there any load during startup
What is the use case for setting up slow ramp rate. Is it to charge a huge output cap ? What is the value of output cap ?

Hi Praveen,

Input voltage 5V, Load 15mA, no other load, slew rate 100mV/ms is application required, 100uF output cap.

Hi Jimmy,

TPS25980 can startup into 100uF output cap very quickly. Can you help us understand why you need so slow startup ?

Hi Praveen,

100mV/ms is required by customer. If TPS25980 can not support it, do we have other recommendation?

Hi Jimmy,

There is no limitation in using Higher dvdt cap on TPS25980 to achieve slow ramp rate like 100mV/ms.

You can calculate the cap required on dvdt to achieve 100 mV/ms using the design calculator and test it on EVM.
