TPS650330-Q1: issue in programing the output voltage of BUCK-1

Part Number: TPS650330-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BOOSTXL-TPS65033

We are evaluating the functionality of the TPS65033000-Q1 IC using the BOOSTXL-TPS65033

As per the datasheet we need to get 3.0V in Buck 1 if we write Ah in I2C register address 7h (BUCK1_VOUT Register) but instead 3.0V we are getting 3.5V, we can able to get 3.0V only if we write 0h instead of Ah in register address 7h (BUCK1_VOUT Register).

Please let be know the reason for this.

Thanks & Regards,
Pushpanathan

  • Hi Pushpanathan,

It looks like you are using the older revision of silicon (PG 1.0). Please check the Die Revision in the RID Register (address 1h) to confirm.

I assume you have access to mySecure if you have are looking at the datasheet. If you do have an older revision, you can refer to the PG 1.0 datasheets (denoted as "A0" in mySecure) use the PG 1.0 version of the BoosterPack GUI. For a link to the appropriate GUI, please refer to the "TPS65033x Silicon Revision Vs. EVM GUI Version Lookup Table" on mySecure.

    Thanks,

    Gerard
