TPS65917-Q1: TPS65917 PMIC LDO2 output issue

Hello TI,

We are using the OTP PMIC O917A171TRGZRQ1 in HKMC ECU project.  When we tested the ECU from room temperature to -40°C, we found the LDO2 output voltage 3.3V of PMIC was out of range. It will be 5V at about -30°C. This can cause ECU to failure. Please check the device mark code as below.

  • Hello, please provide this additional information:

    1- Are the others rails within specification?

    2- Is LDO2 output coming back to 3.3V at low temperature? Or it is steady at 5V at low temperature? Scope picture shows it goes back to 3.3V

    3- Do you know the LDO2 output capacitor value at low temperature? The min output capacitance should be higher 0.6uF at any circumstances.  

    3- Please make sure the LDO2 output capacitance is well soldered and no cold solder joint at low temp
