TPS652170EVM Operation Issue

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BOOSTXL-TPS652170, IPG-UI

Dear Sir/Ms.

I follow user guide (SLVUBH6–November 2018) but can not  read register. Please refer following picture.

My EVM.

I connect as following picture. Should I wire power to Boostxl-TPS652170EVM? Would you please guide me?

My customer's request power rail as following. They accept add 1 DC/DC to fit their required.

1.5A, 2.0A mean switching current limit , not Iout.

Best Regards,

Kami Huang

  • Kami,

This might sound like silly question, but have you tried toggling the PWR switch to enable power to the BOOSTXL-TPS652170 BoosterPack board?

Thanks for the images, but 2 pieces of critical information are missing:

    • In bottom right corner of IPG-UI, does it say "Hardware Connected" or "Hardware Not Connected"?
    • Can you show me photograph of back-side of MSP430 LaunchPad? I cannot see if any LEDs are ON.

Tomorrow is national holiday in U.S. and I will be back in the office on Monday, November 30th to continue debug effort.

  • Hello Brian,

I'm out office due customer visit today. I will check again and reply you in tomorrow.

    Best Regards,

    Kami Huang

  • Hi,

As Brian mentioned, he is out of office due to public holidays and he will provide you the feedback after he comes back on Monday.

    Regards,

    Murthy

  • Hello Brian,

I will check again. Why am I so stupid.

Read Register again and not any feedback.

Turn on SW1, then registers read.

    I must be too nervous.

    Best Regards,

    Kami Huang

  • Kami,

No problem, happy to help and even more happy that the board is working as expected.

We installed LED D1 on-board so you will know when the board has power from the MSP430 LaunchPad and we installed LED D7 on-board so you will know when PGOOD is high (at least one regulator is enabled and working correctly).

It was the first picture you attached that gave me the clue needed to solve the problem ;-)
