LM61435-Q1: When input is less than output, will output follow the input?

Part Number: LM61435-Q1

Hi Team,

My customer use LM61435-Q1 to convert 12V to 10V.  In the circuit, If the input is less than 12V, will the output follow input?

Customer could accept such situation A. For example, Vin =12V, Vout =11.9V.

But if Vin =12V, Vout =0V, customer can't accept.

  • Hi,

The part will not shutdown such as VOUT = 0V.

What will happen is that the output will also drop with VIN,  for example at VIN=12V, VOUT maybe around 11V (depend on the efficiency and voltage drop across DCR on the inductor)

You can take a look at the VOUT = 5V case to see how the part behave when VIN is dropping out

    Thanks
