LM1084: Can it work stable with 25V output

Part Number: LM1084

Hi

I'm looking for a device that can provide stable 25V output at 26.4V input, with 1.1A maximum output current for the customer's solution.

I noticed this device meets the requirement so I tried Webench design and noticed the output can be set as 25V at 26.4V input, but I have problems finding the output voltage in the datasheet.

Can you provide some information about the output voltage of this device and whether it can work stably at this input and output condition?

Thank you

  • Hi David,

The maximum output voltage under adjustable configuration is listed under the product page which is 27.5V.

  • Hi Jason

    Thank you for your reply.

I can see the maximum output on the product page, but is there any specification about this value listed in the datasheet or other documents?

Also, the customer requires a stable 25V output voltage, it's pretty much close to the maximum voltage of 27.5V, can our device provide stable performance regarding the heat generation and the noise?

    Regards

    Huang

  • Hi David,

As long as the junction temperatures stay under the recommended value and not triggering the current limit or thermal protection, having a 25V output will not have any problem.

You may find more details on the thermal discussion under section 10.3 in the datasheet.

If you have any additional questions, please let me know.

    Regards,
