CSD95495QVM: Is filtering recommended/required on IOUT?

Part Number: CSD95495QVM

The CSD94595QVM datasheet states that this powerstage "features integrated emulated inductor current sensing"; does this form of current sensing require a filter implementation on the board for IOUT? Are there any white papers or application notes that explain the "emulated inductor current sensing" mechanism?

Thanks!

  • Hi Ashleye,

The current sense function is implemented inside the start power stage, it's easy to use and you don't need any extra component on board.

What you need to measure/sense is the differential voltage between IOUT and REFIN, which represents the inductor current with 5mV/A scale. To measure the signal, it's suggested to use differential voltage probe. To sense the signal, it's suggested to route IOUT/REFIN in differential signal pair and avoid any noisy sources around the differential signal traces.

    Best,
