TPS23757: is there any alarm mechanism that told us if PSE power is less than PD

Part Number: TPS23757
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS23756

Hi team,

As title, is there any alarm mechanism in TPS23757 that told us if PSE power is less than PD?

We are using TPS23756 and TPS23757 as PD and hope to have a sign if PSE power is less than PD.

If there's no such function inside, could you please teach us how to realize this function?

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Cindy

  • Hello,

    Thank you for your question.

The TPS23756 has T2P pin which is an active low output that can tell an MCU on PD side if the PSE is Type 1 (13W) or Type 2 (25.5W) capable.

For the TPS23757, since this device is Type 1 only (13W), it is assumed that the PSE can provide the full power so our PDs have no indicator pin.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Thanks!
