TPS24720: Cause other card reset when plug into backplane

Part Number: TPS24720
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CSD16407Q5

Hi Team,

Issue found:

  • Board A is working normally in the chassis. Board B(with hot swap TPS24720) plug in cause board A to restart.
  • TPS24720 GATE voltage drop is detected
  • Connecting a 100UF solid cap in parallel with input, the phenomenon could be improved
  • Application is for 12V, 110A design
  • Schematic is attached in the below

Could you please help review the schematic? Actually I find that Rprog=155.96K and Plim=16.03W are not match with MOSFET CSD16407Q5 when using TPS24720 Design Calculator (Rev. G). But I am not sure about whether this may cause the issue above.

Does there 110A or any similar current level reference design could be provided ?

Thanks.

Best Regards,

Tess Chen
