LM5143DESIGN-CALC: Power loss on Quickstart Design Tool

Part Number: LM5143DESIGN-CALC
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5143-Q1

Hi, Team,

Please let me confirm about "Effiency/Power Loss Analyzer shown in IM5143-Q1 Quickstart Design Tool. In the section of "Effiency/Power Loss Analyzer" in the file,   the Grapf  of  "Efficiency/Power loss vs Load current" is displayed.

Q1: There is an another selection("N/A-Do Not Use") except for "Efficiency vs. IOUT - 2 Ph" for the graph of "Efficienvy/Power Loss vs Load current ". When it is selcted, what does the Graph shown mean?

Q2: In case we use LM5143-Q1 in "Single Output - 2 phases", does the power loss of MOSFET and Inductor displayed on the graph show the loss of for only one channel of 2 phases?

Best regards,

H.Someno

  • Someno-san,

Here are the answers as follows:

Q1. There are two options in the drop down menu. For the dual-output option, options for channel one and channel two are shown. However, for 2/3/4-phase operation, only one option is applicable or relevant (the N/A option means that plot result is not applicable).

Q2. The power loss is shown for each individual FET.

    Regards,

    Tim
