TPS25942L: TPS25942L : Vout decrease to 0V , the Iout will still exsits for a while.

Part Number: TPS25942L

Hi team,

Customer is testing TPS25942L, and find that when Vout decrease to 0V, Iout will exsits for a while. Is that normal? Could you help to explain how it happens? Thanks!

The load is from Chroma 63004-150-60, Iout is measured from Cout to the load with a current probe.

1.I(lim)=0.79A , when Vout decrease to 0V, it will be about 200ms before Iout decrease to 0A

2.I(lim)=1.8A , when Vout decrease to 0V, it will be about 10ms before Iout decrease to 0A

3.I(lim)=4A(on another board) ,   Iout decrease to 0A once Vout decrease to 0V

Best regards

Reagan

  • Hi Reagan,

This is due to the behavior of e-load in CC mode.

In Constant Current mode the electronic load tries to draw constant current irrespective of the voltage.

In the e--load there would be setting where can change the load turn off voltage. You can adjust this value to a voltage where you would like the e-load to stop drawing current.

You can also try to test using CR mode of e-load or use a resistive load for better results.

  • Hi Praveen,

    Thanks for your support!
