BQ24297: Power up from VBUS without battery

Part Number: BQ24297

Hi

I have a device that operates from Li-Ion battery. We use BQ24297 as our charger and power path.

We are trying to enable an operation mode that allow us to power up and operate from VBUS when no battery is present.

When I am trying to power up from VBUS only, the current seems to be limited by the BQ24297 to 60mA.

My application consumes a current of 160mA-460mA.

At the picture below we can see in blue 5V from a USB port, in green 3.3V (coming from our LDO) and VSYS in purple.

As seen in the picture the VSYS is stuck on 2.7V instead of 3.5V. This happens due to a current limitation of the charger but I can't figure out why it happens.

Any thoughts?
