LMG3425R030: SOURCE pin and GND pin of LMG3425R030

Part Number: LMG3425R030

Hello,

In the datasheet, SOURCE pin is the power ground while the GND pin is the signal ground. So in the layout, I am wondering if the SOURCE pin and GND pin are connected inside the chip or I need to connect them outside with zero ohm resistor? Thank you!

  • Hi,

Thanks for contacting us. It's connected internally and you don't need to connect them outside.

    Regards,

  • Hello,

Thanks for your reply. I have one more question. In the evaluation board of LMG3425R030, the bypass capacitor of VNEG pin is connected to the power ground. I think it should connect to the signal ground since the ground for VDD is also signal ground. Is that correct? Thank you!

  • Hi Hao,

Either way will be fine. As the GND and Source pin is connected internally, having the Kelvin connection for VNEG at power ground pin won't add much additional inductance. It's connected to the power ground in EVM because of the component and trace placement. You can connect it to the signal ground if the layout works out for you.

    Regards,
