UCC27524A-Q1: Allowable power dissipation

Part Number: UCC27524A-Q1

HI,

I have a question of allowable power dissipation over temp.

There is no data of allowable power dissipation vs Tj in the datasheet.

Do you have the data?

If so, can you share?

Regards,

Kasuya

  • Hi, Kasuya-san,

The simple answer is you need to use the formula:

    TJ = PD * Rth + TA

Where Rth is from section 7.4 in the datasheet.

However, the real trick here is calculating PD. In order to do that, please review section 9.2.2.2 Drive Current and Power Dissipation of the datasheet. This should help guide you in calculating the power dissipation for your conditions.

In the recommended operating conditions table. we show 140C as the maximum recommended junction temperature.

  • Hi,

Thank you for the prompt response.

There is no data of PD max in the datasheet.

You mean that I can calc PDmax based on section 9.2.2.2?

Device of other vender shows below figure in the datasheet.

    Can you provide such data?

    Regards,

    Kasuya

  • Kasuya,

I will respond via email while I mark this thread as "resolved".
