Hello,

I utilize GPOUT to trigger a refresh on a set of display icons showing the SOC and whether the device is connected to power for charging...

When I remove charging power (and operating solely on battery) GPOUT pulses as it should, however, when I reconnect charging power, GPOUT does NOT pulse, and I require it to do so... is there a way to configure the device (I’m currently using the default setup) such that a reconnection of charging power pulses GPOUT? And if so, how would this specifically be accomplished.

Hello Chuck,

You can review the TRM section 2.5.1 GPOUT Pin for all the functionality of that pin. It should pulse the pin even if it's reconnected.

This is a rather useless reply.

I reviewed section 2.5.1 before posting... it too, is poorly written, using terms that are not defined within the text... “relaxation” for instance.

Reconnection of charging power does NOT pulse GPOUT using the default setup. This is confirmed an a DSO.

Does NOT do so as verified by a DSO. GPOUT pulse is only occurring when charging power is removed, and battery depletes or charges with a delta of 1%.... I need GPOUT to pulse when charging power is restored.

It would help to know if pin BIN needs any special configuration as well as what command words configure GPOUT for this function (data sheets do not confirm that GPOUT pulses with reconnection of charging power.... and only speaks specifically to the delta 1% change)
