LM5050-1-Q1: Reverse voltage protection and inrush current

Part Number: LM5050-1-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00992, , CSD19532Q5B, LM7480-Q1

Hello Team,

My Customer is implementing reverse voltage protection based on LM5050-1-Q1. The reference design TIDA-00992 is suitable for their application. However, they are in doubt about capacitive load and inrush current. Their application, reverse voltage protection will be connected to three DC/DC converters. Total input capacitance (only capacitance at DC/DC inputs, not including output capacitance at each DC/DC output) is about 1500uF. They are concern about inrush current when switching on. The pulsed drain current for CSD19532Q5B MOSFET (as also used in reference design) is 400A for less or equal of 100ms ( ≤ 1% duty cycle). Can you help us to check if this will be violated, and how to solve this?

Regards,

_Renan
