TL7733B: RESIN and RESET Functionality

Part Number: TL7733B

This question is related to what seems to be a discrepancy in the datasheet. In the pin description of RESIN, it describes the pin as a “disable” for the device. It states when “When the Reset Input is low, the RESET output goes low and the RESET_N goes high.” I take this to mean when RESIN is de-asserted, the RESET and RESET_N will be de-asserted, regardless of the voltage in the SENSE pin. I’m interested in using the RESET_N of the device. However, further down the datasheet on Figure 1 Timing Diagram, it shows when RESIN goes low, RESET_N goes low as well. Can you please clarify which behavior this device follows. I’m interested in the pin function description behavior, as I would like a “disable the reset” functionality.

  • HI Steve,

Thanks for pointing out the mistake.  The pin description for /RESIN Input low does not sound correct.  When /RESIN goes low, the logic state should be RESET = H and /RESET = L.

Unfortunately, this is the opposite of what you are needing for your application.
