TPS564208: Low Ripple LTE Power Supply

Hello,

We'd like to use the TPS564208 as a 12V -> 3.9V DC/DC for a LTE module.

When sending/receiving data we are expecting burst current of 2A with a flank rise time of 2-3us.

Can we add 200uF or more between TPS564208 and load? Would that compromise the control loop?

Our goal is to reduce any ripple as good as possible and reduce EMI.

Have you tried adding the cap to the Spice model to check? That would give a good degree of confidence as well.

Hi Suter,

Actually your goal is to get a better load transient performance. Here it's suggested to use a smaller inductor and larger output cap. and you also can add a CFF to increase bandwidth. would you like to post schematic to review? i will give suggestion about the value of LC and CFF.
