LM25037: CS Pin and Overload Protection Timer not active from 1V - 1.3V of SS voltage

Part Number: LM25037

Hello,

We use UVLO pin to do remote on/off, we pull it low using a transistor.

When the output is already stable and we test a peak current or short circuit, the duty cycle is limited by the CS pin signal and afterwards the RES pin (with 470pF) raise to 2V to go to hiccup mode.

Ch1 (yellow) = SS pin voltage

Ch2 (green) = Res pin voltage (with 470pF)

CH4 (blue) = Secondary transformer current (output current).

As shown above, the trigger point current is around 17A.

When we do start-up short (short the output then power-up by remote on/off signal), there seems to be delay from 1V start-up voltage of SS pin to 1.3V.

In this case, the primary current would exceed the 17A trip level and cause output diode spoilt.

As shown above, there is a delay of around >10mS which will cause output diode damage.

1. When SS pin reach 1V, secondary current can be seen to start to increase >17A after 5mS but does not trigger the cycle-by-cycle current limit.

2. And only the timer would be triggered when SS pin reach around 1.3V

So from above statements, there are 2 case that is not working properly.
