BQ34Z110: How to detect disconnected battery with BQ34Z110

BQ34z110 does not have any GPIO, have you considered connecting battery negative to an MCU with pullup?

We're looking for a software solution so if the battery becomes disconnected we can differentiate that from dead battery condition without any mods to the boards in the field. Maybe certain register value combinations or if battery resistance is tracked by the device where we can get to it, it could give the status we want to see.

No golden image yet. We've been using it in the field without making use of the battery gauge. Now we want to use it but we have to distinguish when the battery's not there. We're connected to four 12v sealed AGMs for 48v.

.gg is different than golden image, it is the configuration file for the gauge.

bq34z110 is a bit old device and not supported by bqstudio (so there is actually no .gg to export). I would suggest you switch to bq34z100-G1, which has improved firmware and better software support (e.g bqStudio).
