TPS1HA08-Q1: Is there clamp circuit for EN pin?

Part Number: TPS1HA08-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS1HB08-Q1,

Hi team,

Is there clamp circuit for EN pin?

TPS1HA08-Q1 and TPS1HB08-Q1 says recommended Enable voltage is under 5.5V.
If it has clamp diode for EN pin, is it possible to use 12V input to EN with external resistor for limiting input current to EN?

Regards,
Ochi

  • Hi Ochi,

The device does not have an internal clamp on the EN pin, the user must ensure that the voltage at the EN pin is within the recommended voltages.

TPS1HA08 has two voltage clamps integrated to protect the device. The following images provide the location for these clamps. In order to understand these clamps' functionality better refer to page 22 of the datasheet.
