TPS563209: Current Protection Limit

Hi Team,

The device stopped working when a pulse current of 3.4A.

I believe that the Current Protection Limit was activated.

What is the current limit value (min/typ/max) under these conditions?

[Conditions]

Vin=12V

Vout=5V

L=4.7uH

In the datasheet, when Vin=12V, Vout=1.05V, L=1.5uH, min3.5V/typ4.2V/max5.3V.

Are there any conditions for the detection time?(The pulse width of 3.4A is less than 1us.)

OC limit value keep same with your conditions. do you have any waveforms to share to help you confirm?

If it is the same, I don't think the limit will be applied at 3.4A.

Do you know why the limit is applied?

Do you have any advice for my other question about pulse width?

Hi Kenji,

Based on your conditions, on time should be 0.64us. it's less than 1us. it's no problem. how do you give a pulse current of 3.4A? if does the part recover after stopping switching?
