LMZ14201H: Error message in Webench appeared

Hi Team,

A customer tried to simulate LMZ14201H with the following specifications, Vin =11V-14V, Vout=10V and Iout=0.5A. However, an error message below appeared in Webench. Is this a bug in Webench or because the difference between the minimum Vin and Vout is just 1V only?

Hello Danilo,

Yes, you are likely hitting the maximum duty cycle (required off time) at the minimum input voltage. The typ value is 260ns.

If you increase the minimum Vin you should be able to get 10V output. Alternatively, you may have to switch at a really low frequency (e.g. 200kHz or lower) to get 10Vout with 11V input. WEBENCH may be more conservative to avoid the dropout condition.
