UCC21750: Need Help! can i use reference TIDA-020030 for 3 phase Inverter?

Dear All,

My requirement is 3 phase inverter for 25KW with I/p 450VDC and O/p 415VAC.

Can i use 3 cards of TIDA-020030 reference design and fire them with 120° apart to achieve?

Hi, Vijay, We have not tested this design in that orientation, but I see no reason why it should not work.

Hi,

Could you help me why do you have 2 PWM Input for each gate IN+ and IN- (for INU+ and INU- same way for INL+ and INL-)? I If i'm driving this card with Microcontroller i normally give only PWM signal on U+ and L+ right?

Also do you have any reference code for TI microcontrollers for 3 phase PWM you could share for me to test? Deeply awaiting your reply.

Hi, Vijay,

You get better noise immunity driving both IN+ and IN-.

As for reference code, please post a new request in the appropriate processor forum.

Thank you for your quick reply. Could you please elaborate on what did you mean by "You get better noise immunity driving both IN+ and IN-." I have never use Mosfet Drivers before since I'm new to power electronics. Could you share me any training article or video, to understand it more in detail. I dont even know how to drive using IN+ and IN-. Deeply awaiting your reply.

Hi, Vijay,

The need for IN+ and IN- are described in section 9.2.2.2 PWM Interlock of IN+ and IN- of the datasheet. This "interlock" is used to prevent both the high-side and low-side of the same leg from turning on at the same time.
