Hi Team,
The datasheet of LM2596 says the output voltage tolerance is 4%. A customer would like to know if there is a standard tolerance and how do you guarantee that its tolerance value is 4%?

Danilo

Hi Andy,
Thank you for your quick response. The customer would like to know if there is a standard tolerance value for the output voltage of a regulator or the tolerance value is solely dependent on the requirement of the load?

Danilo
Hi Danilo,
Sorry it's hard to find out the standard deviation value for LM2596 FB as it's too old part.
On data sheet Fig1, you can find that the measured output tolerance is far smaller than 4%, we normally specify the min/max tolerance with 6 sigma to cover corner condition.
