TPS82130: Overvoltage Protection

Please tell me the reason why there is no output overvoltage protection circuit.
Is it because the output voltage of TPS82130 is guaranteed by the value of the external resistor?

Hi Masahito Takei,

The LMZ31506 and LMZ31710 do actually have OVP. The threshold is the same as the PWRGD fault threshold of 109% and 108% respectively. The sensing for OVP is done at the VSENSE pin of the buck regulators used within these modules or the VADJ pin of the module. When the regulator senses OVP, the HS FET is turned off and held off until the OVP condition is gone.

Regarding the TPS82130, there is no OVP shutdown, but the output will clamp to around 7V if the FB input is opened.

Unfortunately this is not mentioned in the datasheet for the modules. For more details on this feature, you can refer to the datasheets for the buck converter used in the modules.
