Hi expert
I want to know t why the LRM23630 have two option that PFM and forced PWM mode ?consider different applications or are there other reasons? How to choose the two mode in the different condition? Thanks

Hi Zhu Bo,
PFM mode has much higher efficiency and slight higher output ripple than FPWM mode at light load condition, the PFM mode switching freq will gradually decrease lower than normal freq depends on the load current.
so PFM mode target for high eff and low Iq at light load, FPWM target for fixed freq over full load range and smaller output ripple.

Hi Zhu Bo,
FPWM is more commonly used in industrial application if the input is not powered by battery, the output ripple is much smaller at load transient as the converter keeps on switching at fixed freq.
