LMG3410R050: Design help to use it as a high-side power switch

Hello,

I'm trying to use the LMG3410R050 as a high side power switch.

In essence, this is the equivalent circuit I'm trying to achieve:

I’m using the SPICE model provided in SNOM689A and the following circuit simulated in TI-TINA:

NOTE: Please, see attached the TINA simulation file (.TSC) and the LMG3410R050.TSM macro model

The problem is the simulation shows the output voltage in the load only goes from 0V to 10V and not to 270V (VBUS) as intended.

I will greatly appreciate if anyone can offer some insight in how to achieve the intended functionality.

Hello Vicente,

We will look into this issue. Have you tried to change the bus voltage? Did the output voltage change?

Hello Zhang,

Yes, as long as the input drain voltage (V_BUS) reach a minimum voltage, the output voltage value in source is always around 11V - 12V.

I will simulate it with psice for TI as well and post my results.

Hello Vicente,

The issue was found. For high side switch, all the signals should be referred to the switch node instead of ground except for the bus voltage. Please change the high side ground and check. Let us know if you have further questions.
