Hi team,

my customer noticed that the TPS40170 has frequency synchronization master/slave option. Do you know if they can put two TPS40170 in parallel to achieve supply redundancy?

    Hi Errol,

    Paralleling voltage-mode controlled stages is always a challenge as the peak current is not controlled in an inner loop (like it is in current mode).

    My recommendation is to use the LM5143-Q1 two-phase / dual-channel controller. This has a peak current-mode control architecture.
