TPS53622: TPS53622A+CSD95496QVM*2

Part Number: TPS53622
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CSD95496QVM,

Hi,

We are using TPS53622A+CSD95496QVM*2, Just want to make sure is there anything need to pay attention if switching Vin from 12V to 5V?

And the output should be 0.72V, 40A.

Per our datasheet, 5Vin is within the controller and power stage Vin range. So i guess it's fine to do the Vin Switching.

Do you have some suggestions on this?

Thanks.

  • If you have an existing 12V design, changing to 5V is most likely OK, but:

    - The transient response may change due to different on-times, you may want a different inductor value. I assume you can test the existing design to see it.

    - The input current will go up alot, and you may need to change the input shunt sensing.

    - Check the tolerance of the 5V supply vs. the UVLO settings available

    - The power stage needs a well-regulated 5V supply for accurate Imon, which the controller requires
