TPS27S100: Absolute maximum rating of the output current

Hi All,


I have a question about TPS27S100.

What is the absolute maximum rating of the output current?

Also, please tell me the time when the current limit operates.
For example when the current limit value is reached for 10 msec or more, the limit operates.

    Ishiwata-san,

    The device is built for a 4A nominal DC current. 

    There are two answers to your questions about the operation of the current limit.

    The first is the time between which the device recognizes a current limit and starts limiting the current. The answer to this question is the it is immediate. The device starts limiting current as soon as it is recognized.

    The second question is how long before the device recognizes the current limit. This is undefined as there are a lot of factors inplay such as device accuracy, R_cl accuracy and the rate at which the overload event occurs.     Thank you for your reply.

    I know the output current of Recommended Operating as it is described in the data sheet.
    The absolute maximum rated output current is not listed in the data sheet.
    I want to know the maximum rated current.

    I understand the operating time of the current limit that it works due to various factors.

    Ishiwata-san,

    For DC conditions, the maximum current is the 4A listed in the recommended operating condition. Please keep the DC current of your application under this value.

    If you are looking for the maximum current that can flow through the device, I would point to the maximum internal current limit of 13A.

    The device is built to support this high current limit.
