BQ77PL900: Review of my basic schematic

Part Number: BQ77PL900

Hello!

I have finished a basic schematic to implement the BQ77PL900 as a BMS with a 6S Li-ion battery. I have omitted some components because the size is important to this board, but I don't know if I'm wrong with something.

So please, could you have a look to the schematic to see is everything is ok?

Regards!

  • Hi David,

The inputs are reported to be sensitive to damage, so the differential input caps on VCX are recommended.

VIOUT and VCOUT are recommended to have 0.1 uF minimum capacitors

The VREG1 and VREG2 are in series, VREG1 should have a capacitor even if not using the 5V externally.

Since you don't have a precharge FET you should not need a pull down option on PMS.

For R16 the data sheet suggests 10k above Table 7.

FETs are big, if you don't need the parallel FETs for current or thermal design, they may be a good area savings.

  • Thank you very much for your fast answer. I will add the recommended capacitors you say.

Yes FETs are big, but because the place where is the BMS located is not well ventilated.

    Regards!
