Hi,

LM25180 is recommended 60% max duty.

Is this limit to secure the time that a transformer discharges energy?

    Kuramochi-san,

    60% is not a max. That was used in the datasheet design example as a guideline when choosing the turns ratio. For a wide Vin application, it's quite possible to set Dmax at 70-75%. Above that, the secondary side conduction time gets really short, meaning the secondary peak currents are much higher. This increases output ripple, reduces efficiency, and may degrade load regulation slightly as well.
