TPS54560-Q1: Need help on circuit design/debug

Part Number: TPS54560-Q1

Hello,

I built a test board for TPS54560-Q1 base on schematic below.  and when I power it on, the output voltage is < 1V.

I want to konw what is the reason it behaves this way. I checked every connections, the voltage on pin EN is 8.2V. Could that be the missing inductor at the output terminal?

  • Hi,

Yes the inductor is an important part of the circuit, it is used as the energy storage element for the buck converter.

This might be a good staring point for your design

Also keep in mind that your diode is not a schottky diode. For the circuit to work you may want to substitute that with a schottky diode.

    Thanks
