BQ24250: BQ24250: How to set up stand-alone configuration with EN1/EN2 pins with USB

Part Number: BQ24250

I am trying to set up the B24250 to be stand-alone compatible with a micro usb type b. How do I configure pins EN1 and EN2 if I want it to be stand alone?

  • Furthermore, how do I configure SDA, SDI, and INT pins to support stand alone in the bq24250?

  • Hi Tara,

SDA, SCL and INT pins can be left floating.

ENx pins control the charger's input current limit and the VINDPM threshold.  The input current limit should be set to your input power supply's maximum output current capability.  The VINDPM threshold should be set to the lowest voltage that the IN pin will see, due to weak power supply or high resistive connection from the power supply to the VIN pin.  VINDPM reduces the input current to the charger to prevent it from collapsing the input power supply.  Two of the ENx set fixed values for input current limit and VINDPM while one lets you choose your own values using external resistors.  The HiZ option disables the charger so that the battery provides power to SYS, similar to when no input power is connected the charger.
