LMG3425R030: Questions for LMG3425R030 in a half bridge configuration

Part Number: LMG3425R030

Hello,

I am using LMG3425R030 for half bridge configuration. I have the following questions.

1. What is the reflow temperature for this GaN device?

2. After I soldered this device on the board, I checked all the fault pins (fault, OC) and voltage rails (LDO5V, VDD, VNEG) and they all works well. I also checked the body diode voltage drop of the device and it is ok as well. However, when the PWM signal is provided to the IN pin, the GaN device can't switch so does it mean the device is broken? And how can I determine if the device is still ok?

Thank you!

  • Hi Hao,

    1. When we trying to solder GaN device, we normally use 450F hot air blowing at the device.

    2. A test you can do is supplying 5V to IN pin and use multimeter to test the resistance of the source/drain of the device and see if it's <1 ohm range. Also without any power supply, the resistance of the device should be a few mega ohm. If the numbers don't match then it's an indication that the GaN is broken.

    Regards,
