BQ24103: output issue

Part Number: BQ24103

Dear,

BQ24103 schematic as below,  the issue:  when  the loading is added ,there is the output, when the power is ok,  if no load , the output is square wave, high level is 8.4V and low level is 0V , even the load is light, there is still no output;

note :RT1 is no welding

  • Hi:

    C39 change to 0 Ω R, now it is ok! but I do not know the function of timer, it is closed, which is it ok for battery charging or discharging safety?

    Can you provide  special point of the bq24103's design ? we should note the details

  • HI Cooper,

    A capacitor on TTC pin sets the safety timer timeout.  Safety timer is used to prevent battery charging after a fixed time in case the battery is damaged.  By pulling it low, the timer function and battery charger termination is disabled.  Termination disabled simply means that the charger does not stop charge at the termination current setting but will continue to push current into the battery with the battery voltage at the constant voltage set point.  The battery will not be overvoltaged but the charger STAT pins will never report charge termination.

    Regards,

    Jeff
