Hi Team,

Good day, customer is looking for reference for TPS40057 reference circuit that can meet the Vin 20-30V ,OUT 5V 8A. Tried the webench but there is no reference circuit provided.

According to customer they tried to follow what is recommended in the datasheet but their design always failed. There is a short power cut everytime load is added.

    HI Maynard,

    I recommend using the LM25145 controller for this application. This is part of the LM5145 and LM5146-Q1 controller family.

    The LM5145 EVM is 5V/20A/225kHz and the LM5146-Q1 EVM is 12V/8A/400kHz. More specifically, take a look at the apps examples in the LM25145 datasheet using 40V NexFETs. Please use the quickstart calculator (available by download from the product folder) to assist with component selection and to review efficiency, etc.

    By the way, we have a converter (with integrated FETs) for 5V/8A - see the LM61495-Q1.
