TPS23758: Questions about using power ON/OFF

Hi, TI expert.

The following is the circuit to which the TPS23758 is applied.

Using external S/W, power ON/OFF function is required.

As indicated in the circuit diagram, I want to turn the power ON/OFF by connecting S/W between R259 (24.9Kohm) of pin 15 (DEN) and R265 (45.3ohm) of pin 16 (CLS).

Would it be okay?

According to the data sheet, the FET stops when the DEN pin is connected to VSS.



If it is difficult to use as above, is there any other way?

please check.

    Hello Grady,

    Typically we use a FET and an optocupler to accomplish this:

    I would not suggest connecting VDD and VSS with a switch. That will be a lot of power and probably cause damage. 

    Alternatively, you could do the same thing with APD in your current schematic.
