When using an external FET on the BQ24161B (or other variations), I assume that the internal FET is fully operational and in parallel to the external FET, with current splitting between the internal and external FETs. I would also assume the RDSON of the battery FET path would be approximately the parallel RDSON of the internal and external FETs.
Please confirm or correct my assumptions.
