Suggestion for to design 36 Volt (350 Watt) and 12 Volt (45Watt) AC/DC converter design

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28180, UCC28056, UCC256402, PMP22087, PMP8677

Hi,

Can anyone please suggest for the design of 36 Volt (350 Watt) and 12 Volt (45Watt) AC/DC converter.

Input 90VAC - 265VAC, AC power supply

Output: 36 Volt (350 Watt) and 12 Volt (45Watt)

Which topology should adopt while designing these two.

Also, please suggest the important IC/ Controller to be used.

Chandan

  • Hi Chandan,

For the 36V output, I would suggest a PFC + LLC. You can look at UCC28056 or UCC28180 for the PFC controller and UCC256402 for the LLC. For 45W, a flyback is appropriate. PMP22087 might be a good reference to look at.

For the 12V, you could either use a flyback coming off the PFC output or you can use a buck to take 36V down to 12V depending on if the 12V needs to be isolated from the 36V output.. PMP8677 may be good to look at if you want to consider flyback.

  • Thank you for your suggestion. Can you please help me in the reference design for the same.
