TPS2113A: need additional details for derating

Part Number: TPS2113A

Hi,

I am working on some derating activity for this device, but i am not able to find all the information i need from the datasheet.

I see there is the rdsOIN curve in figure 8 of the datasheet, but do you have one for the max rds as well? I would like to understand what the worst case rdsON would be across temperature but I cannot correlate it with the data I have available.

Also, what is the thermal resistance of the device? I see the spec for the thermal shut down but what power dissipation will result in the device reaching the TJmax resulting in thermal shutdown?

My final questions is how do I interpret the dissipation rating table on page 2?

Thanks,

Jose

    We do not have a rdson curve, but we do publish the worst case based on process or temp in electrical characteristics (150mOhm for TPS2113A)

    The table for SON-8 is actually kind of wrong. the power ratings should all be W not mW.

    For thermal resistance, the derating factor is actually the inverse of Rjtheta. So for TSSOP-8, which doesn't have a thermal pad, it is ~256C/W, and for SON-8 it is 40 C/W.

    All of these power ratings are set at a max of Tj=125C.

    lets call D as derating factor, P_dis as the power dissapted in the device.

    Tj=1/D*P_dis+T_A

    You'll notice if you set Tj to 125C (tjmax) you get the same power ratings.
