Hi Team,

I encountered some problems while testing the 24610EVM board，

Cannot use electronic load and power supply to simulate battery

My input is a 24V power supply, and the BAT is connected to the electronic load CV mode (18V) and power supply (17V). I want to simulate the battery charging process, but I found that STAT1 and STAT2 on the EVM are not bright（CE is bright）, and the current read by the electronic load is also very small. I did not enter the charging state when I judged, so I want to know whether my setting like this can simulate the process of battery charging? In addition, I did not provide 1.8v for TS, will it not work?

Hi Z,

Yes, you need a voltage on TS otherwise the charger is in a fault condition and will not charge. STAT1 and STAT2 indicate a fault condition on your setup.

I have a new question.when I only supply power to Vin, Saw a different phenomenon.(use 24610EVM）

1.when Vin=24v, TS=1.8v,and not insert the battery.STAT1 light off.The waveform as picture.

2.When Vin=20v,TS=1.8v.I found STAT1 light on(Charge in progress),and the waveform show below,

So I would like to know

Why the STAT1 on when I have not insert battery？
If I don't insert battery, What is normal? Is it picture1? But why is there a voltage drop

Hi,

Depends on your charge regulation voltage. Most likely 24V is a valid input supply based off of your charge regulation voltage, as VIN>VSRN. With 20V you are most likely in SLEEP mode as your charge regulation voltage is higher than VIN = 20V. As this is a buck charger you will need an input voltage higher than charge regulation voltage.
