TPS23734: auxiliary power adapter

Hello,

A customer of mine needs to support an auxiliary power adapter in the voltage range of 9V to 57V. Can the TPS23734 support that when using a matching transformer?

    Hello Victor, 

    Yes the TPS23734 can support a 9V-57V input -- we call this Wide-Vin in PoE. 

    As you pointed out, the biggest factor to wide-Vin is the transformer. 

    To use with the TPS23734, I would suggest option 2 in the following paper. This puts the adapter on the VDD-RTN to power the DCDC. Use the APD pin to disable PoE.
