It will depend on what PMBus features they are looking for and the range of output adjustment for a single output.
For converters with integrated power FETs, our PMBus solutions are designed for considerably higher current levels than 3A.
The TPS53915 is a 12A integrated FET converter with PMBus, but it does not support VOUT_COMMAND (standard format output voltage adjustment) or telemetry. It does provide STATUS reporting and output voltage adjustment of +/- 10% using a manufacturer specific command.
The TPS549B22 is a 25A integrated FET converter with PMBus. It supports VOUT_COMMAND for standard format output voltage adjustment for output voltages upto 1.2V, above 1.2V the VOUT_COMMAND formatting will be affected by the required external feedback divider. It also does not support telemetry.
The TPS546A24A is a 10A integrated FET converter with PMBus. It supports VOUT_COMMAND for standard format output voltage adjustment up to 5.5V with no external feedback divider. It also supports VIN, VOUT, IOUT and die temperature telemetry.
For Controllers with external Power FETs, we have
The TPS40400 is a single phase voltage mode control controller. It does not support VOUT_COMMAND, but does support +/- 10% adjustment of the output voltage using VOUT_TRIM. It also supports Input Voltage, Output Voltage and Output Current Telemetry.
The TPS40422 is a dual output voltage mode control controller. It does not support VOUT_COMMAND, but does support + 10% to -20% output voltage adjustment through a manufacturer specific function. It also supports telemetry on Output Voltage, Output Current, and external temperature via an external BJT temperature sensor.
The TPS40425 is a dual output voltage mode control controller without drivers that provides a PWM signal to an external smart power stage (Driver + MOSFETs) it supports VOUT_COMMAND and telemetry on Output Voltage, Output Current and external temperature through an external temperature sensor.
